Internet Video & Voice Free IPTVFree is an internet service provider in France. It was established in 1999 and is a 100 percent subsidiary of the Iliad Group. Free offers Internet access, telephony and television as a bundled package to its subscribers via Freebox modem. Whilst the Freebox includes a choice of free-to-air TV channels, PVR, and catch-up services, some subscribers pay extra for premium TV channels and on-demand content. In Q3 2006, Iliad acquired FTTx operator CiteFibre, which will consolidate Iliad’s deployment of optical fibre services in France. In Q1 2007, the operator launched a 28 Mbps triple play service based on ADSL2+ technology, while in Q3 2007 it launched a fibre-based triple play bundle with 100/50 Mbps speeds. In August 2008, Iliad acquired LibertySurf Group operating in France under the Alice brand. In January 2012, Iliad launched its mobile service offering.
