MTS TV

Manitoba Telecom Services (MTS) is the incumbent telecommunications operator in the Canadian province of Manitoba. MTS is the province’s only full service provider of local, long-distance, wireless, directory and multimedia telecommunications services. It also provides residential and business security systems across Western Canada.

In January 2003, it launched the MTS digital TV service for its residential customers in Winnipeg and signed up 93,000 subscribers by the end of September 2011. MTS also introduced a DSL and MTS TV bundled service in October 2003.

In June 2004, MTS acquired Allstream (formerly known as AT&T Canada) which became a division of MTS. The company has grown its presence in different Canadian regions mainly through acquisitions including Delphi Solutions in 2005 and Valley Cable Vision in September 2006.

On 29 September 2009, MTS acquired VisionIP Technologies Inc. as a step towards strengthening their offerings in the space of Unified Communications.
