Pacific Century Cyber Works (PCCW) is the parent company of Hong Kong Telecom (HKT). PCCW’s broadband network serves all major business areas and 95 percent of Hong Kong households. In August 2000, PCCW completed a merger with Cable & Wireless HKT.

In September 2003, PCCW launched ‘now Broadband TV’, a pay TV service over its ADSL network. The operator also offers the Video on Demand (VoD) service via now.com.hk to PCCW’s broadband (NETVIGATOR) subscribers.

On 19 July 2007 PCCW announced the launch of High Definition (HD) programming on now TV. In November of the same year, the company launched a fibre based bundle with 1000 Mbps including 3G services, Wi-Fi and HD TV.

PCCW has one of the highest IPTV take up rates in the world, with over two thirds of its broadband customers having an IPTV contract.
