Internet Video & Voice Telenor VoIPTelenor is the incumbent telecommunications operator in Norway. In July 2005, Telenor acquired Tiscali’s broadband customer base of 22,000 subscribers. This enabled the operator to expand its broadband service offerings in Norway. On 23 May 2005, Telenor acquired Bredbandsbolaget in Sweden and Cybercity in Denmark for a consideration of 6 billion SEK and 1.4 billion DKK respectively. In January 2007 the Swedish fixed-line service provider Spray was acquired. These deals, together with the acquisition of Tele2 in Q2 2007, enabled the operator to expand its DSL infrastructure and gain larger broadband market shares in Sweden and Denmark. Telenor launched its VoIP service in 2005.
