Broadband Money Makers TeliaTelia is a telecommunications operator based in Sweden. On 12 December 2002 Telia announced the completion of its merger with Sonera, the Finnish incumbent telecommunications operator, to form the TeliaSonera Group. TeliaSonera’s services are marketed under the brands Telia, Halebop and Skanova and Cygate. Telia’s broadband network covers approximately 93 per cent of Swedish households. The government of Sweden sold 8 per cent of TeliaSonera in May 2007 and lowered its shareholding to 37.3 per cent from 45.3 per cent.
