Antel is the incumbent telecom service provider in Uruguay. It offers fixed and mobile telephony, IPTV and data services. The operator also offers Internet services via its subsidiary, Anteldata.

In 2011, Antel invested USD 200 million. Over USD 100 was used for the expansion of broadband services and development of the 4G network. Antel launched LTE services in December 2011.
