Asia Pacific Online Services Ltd (APOL) was established in 1996. In December 2000, it was acquired by Asia Pacific Broadband Telecom (APBT).

Its 3G network uses CDMA 2000 technology and covers 98.7 per cent of the Taiwan population. On 26 October 2007, APBT changed its name to Asia Pacific Telecom Group (APTG).
