12 May 2010Bell Canada

Bell Canada is a leading telecommunications company based in Canada. Bell Canada Enterprises (BCE) is the parent company of Bell Canada and offers a wide range of services aimed at residential and business consumers. It also offers unbundling of its DSL lines allowing other ISPs to offer their own services on its network.

Bell acquired Virgin Mobile Canada on 2 July 2009. This acquisition will help the operator expand its footprints in the wireless services and products market.

On 20 June 2007, Bell announced plans to explore business combinations with different companies to enhance its shareholder value. Following this announcement, on 21 December 2007, the bid for Bell Canada's acquisition by an Investor Group led by Teachers', Providence, Madison Dearborn and Merrill Lynch was approved by the FCC.
