Vivacom (formerly - BTC) is the main telecommunications operator in Bulgaria with fixed subscribers and a growing number of mobile customers via its subsidiary, offering services under the brand name Vivatel.
In August 2007, AIG Investments acquired a 90 per cent stake in BTC from Viva Ventures Holding GmbH and a number of minority shareholders. By the end of November 2007, it boosted its stake to 94 per cent. In September 2009, AIG agreed to sell a part of its assets to Bridge Partners LP (subsidiary of Hong Kong private equity firm Pacific Century Group) for USD 300 million. In September 2009, BTC was re-branded as Vivacom. In Q409, Vivacom introduced the first triple-play bundle in Bulgarian market. The bundle includes fixed-line, mobile and Internet services. In March 2010, On 16 February 2010, Vivacom transfered its end-to-end technical and operational activities for development following a 5-year strategic agreement. This is the major step in transforming the Bulgarian telecom's network and it will increase both the operational and financial performance as well as allow the telecom to deploy and provide new services in the future.
