Cablemas is the second-largest cable television operator in Mexico based on subscribers and homes passed. The company has the broadest coverage, operating in 85 cities and providing telecommunications services to subscribers nationally. Cablemas was the first cable operator in Mexico to offer a Triple Play service including cable television, high-speed Internet and IP telephony.

In March 2009, Cablemas' shareholder Alvafig (a company controlled by Televisa) increased its interest in the capital stock of the company to 58.3 per cent. As a result, the Alvarez family owns 41.5 per cent of the company’s total capital, although they continue to own 51 per cent of Cablemas’ voting capital stock. In April 2011, Televisa announced its 100 per cent takeover of Cablemas.
