On February 2003, Broadwing Communications sold its broadband assets and its operating name ‘Cincinnati Bell’ to C III Communications. Under the acquisition, C III Communications assumed some long-term operating liabilities of Broadwing Communications and continued providing services to customers. Cincinnati Bell has been recently growing its presence in SMB markets via acquisitions. On 12 May 2010, Cincinnati Bell acquired CyrusOne, a leading data centre operator, for approximately USD 525 million. On 18 November 2009, Cincinnati Bell signed a definitive agreement with American Tower Corporation to sell its 196 wireless communication towers for USD 100 Million. This will allow the operator to increase its liquidity while disposing of its non-core assets.
