Operator Source 20 Jul 2010Deutsche Telekom
Deutsche Telekom is the incumbent telecom operator in Germany. It operates via four strategic divisions, namely T-Mobile, T-Online (International), T-Systems and T-Com. These divisions cover the entire range of telecom services, but Deutsche Telekom has progressively been aiming to integrate these divisions back into the heart of the company.
Deutsche Telekom still offers broadband services through its subsidiary T-Online which offers a wide range of broadband content as part of the T-Online portal called "Vision". In November 2003, Deutsche Telekom launched a broadband VoD service followed by the launch of its "Vision on TV", a premium broadband VoD service in 2004. Later in May 2006, Deutsche Telekom added the new T-Home service to its residential offerings which blends Digital TV, VoD and a row of other interactive features via VDSL broadband. On 17 July 2007, Deutsche Telekom launched its new low-cost brand, Congstar, which offers attractive flat rates for calls to Deutsche Telekom's fixed-line network and mobile networks, including its mobile unit, T-Mobile. It also offers DSL flat rates that are about 20 per cent cheaper than the standard T-Home services.
