Digital Region

Digital Region is a predominantly FTTC community development with some FTTP provision, owned and managed by Digital Region Ltd, in turn owned by Yorkshire Forward in partnership with several local authorities. It provides wholesale network services to service providers and has no retail operation.

Once complete the project will serve a population of over 1.3 million citizens, 546,000 homes and 40,000 businesses covering 97% of South Yorkshire. In total 690km of new duct will be laid, 54 exchanges upgraded and 1,500 street cabinets put in place covering the cities, towns and villages of Sheffield, Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham.
