Hellas Online (HOL) was established in Greece in 1993. As of 31 July 2009, Hellas Online is 81.5 per cent owned by Intracom Holdings with the remaining 18.5 per cent stake owned by Vodafone Greece.

Having started as an alternative ISP, the company grew into an integrated telecommunications provider offering Internet, fixed-telephony and TV services to private, business and wholesale customers. The premium internet service allows customers to browse internet at speeds of up to 24 Mbps.

In Q411, the deal with Vodafone allowed Hellas Online to provide bundled internet, fixed and mobile telephony services to its residential customers at discounted monthly rates.

The company has been investing in network expansion. In Q308, it contracted Bentley Systems Inc. to design and build a 450 km fibre network in Athens and other major cities in Greece. In Q109, Hellas Online started developing a nationwide fibre optic transport network.
