Lumison

Lumison is a privately-owned business ISP based in Edinburgh and London, offering Internet connectivity and other services throughout the UK. Services include dial up, ISDN, ADSL broadband, SDSL broadband, leased lines, web hosting, domains, co-location, data back-up and security services. It was established in 1995 and offered services under the brand name ‘edNET’. The edNET brand was changed to ‘Lumison’ on 2 Aug 2004.

On 1 November 2010, Lumison was acquired by Bridgepoint Development Capital. The transaction is expected to fuel the growth of the company, which currently has around 2,500 customers in the country. Following this, on 28 February 2011, Lumison acquired Blue Square Data for GBP 22 million. This will allow the operator to enhance its business services portfolio and offer medium sized businesses high quality data and networking services at competitive costs.
