Founded in 2002, Lyse is a subsidiary of Lyse Energi A/S, a Norwegian utility company with operations in 10 municipalities in and around the city of Stavanger in Southwest Norway.

Lyse also provides retail and wholesale triple play services in Norway and Denmark. In Denmark, it acts through a joint-venture with MidtVest Bredbånd (MVB), owned by several energy companies.

Lyse’s services are mainly related to fixed and mobile telephony, broadband and digital television distribution. As of October 2009, Lyse offers broadband services under the brand Altibox.
