After having been awarded the second mobile licence in the Cypriot telecommunications market, MTN Cyprus (known as Areeba until September 2007) launched its commercial operations in July 2004. MTN Group holds the controlling 50 per cent stake in MTN Cyprus.

MTN Cyprus provides integrated mobile, fixed telephony, Internet and television services to both private and business customers.

In Q409 MTN Cyprus launched a triple play service which combines mobile telephony, fixed telephony and Internet.
