13 May 2010MTS Allstream

Manitoba Telecom Services (MTS) is the incumbent telecommunications operator in the Canadian province of Manitoba. MTS is the province’s only full service provider of local, long-distance, wireless, directory and multimedia telecommunications services and is the successor to the Manitoba Telephone System established in 1908.

In June 2004, MTS acquired Allstream (formerly known as AT&T Canada) which became a division of Manitoba Telecom Services (MTS). The company has grown its presence in different Canadian regions mainly through acquisitions including Delphi Solutions in 2005 and Valley Cable Vision in September 2006.

On 29 September 2009, MTS acquired VisionIP Technologies Inc. as a step towards strengthening their offerings in the space of Unified Communications. This move will help MTS provide even better value to their customers.
