NET Servicos de Comunicacao is the largest Pay TV operator in Latin America. Formerly known as Globo Cabo, the company changed its name to NET Servicos de Comunicacao in May 2002. The operator offers TV and pay-per-view services under NET, broadband services under NET VĂ­rtua, and VoIP telephony under NET Fone via Embratel brands.

In October 2006, NET Servicos acquired Vivax to extend its reach to 34 new cities in Brazil. The operator also launched telephony services in partnership with Embratel and now offers triple play services to its customers. In summer 2009, NET Servicos acquired ESC 90 Telecomunicacoes Ltd which operates in the pay television and broadband Internet sectors in the cities of Vitoria and Vila Velha.

In January 2011, Telmex Internacional, via its Embratel subsidiary, acquired a 92 per cent stake in NET Servicos.
