NorthwesTel is a Canadian telecommunications company whose operations include local telephone services, long distance communications by microwave radio, fibre-optic cable and satellite communications. NorthwesTel was established over 50 years ago and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bell Canada. Its subsidiary, NorthwesTel Cable Inc., provides cable television and Internet services for several communities in the Northwest Territories.

On 13 July 2007, NorthwesTel announced the acquisition of Whitehorse-based Northern Television Systems Ltd. (WHTV) from The Hougen Group of Companies.

On 10 June 2011, NorthwesTel divested its share in NetKaster by selling it to Xplornet Communications Inc.
