29 Mar 2012Numericable

Numericable was formed in July 2007 after the merger of Noos/UPC France and Numericable (France Telecom Cable), both acquired by private equity house Cinven. In September 2008, Numericable and Completel, a fixed-line operator serving businesses, formed the Numericable-Completel Group. A few months earlier in Q108, the Carlyle Group completed a EUR 1.1 billion equity investment in Numericable and Completel, acquiring a 37.8 per cent stake from the existing shareholders Altice and Cinven.

Between 2007 and 2009, the operator invested EUR 200 million per year in the development of its fibre based network.

In January 2012, the operator launched a triple play bundle with up to 200Mbps speeds.
