Operator Source 15 May 2012Orange JordanOrange Jordan is 51 per cent owned by France Telecom. It offers fixed line telephony, Internet access (ISDN, ADSL, leased line, frame relay) and video conferencing services to business and residential customers. Orange Jordan was formerly known as Jordan Telecom, part of Jordan Telecom Group. In June 2007, Jordan Telecom Group announced the re-branding of its fixed, mobile and Internet services under the Orange trademark. The announcement followed significant re-organisation during 2006 which included the restructuring of its four companies (Jordan Telecom, MobileCom, Wanadoo and e-Dimension) under one management structure and the creation of individual business units (fixed, mobile, Internet, content and wholesale). Rebranding was completed in August 2007. In Q209, Orange Jordan submitted a bid for a 3G licence but was turned down. In Q309, the operator finally became the only owner of a 15-year 3G licence in Jordan. On 4 March 2010, Jordan Telecom launched its 3G+ network. In Q112, Orange Jordan signed an agreement with Ericsson to expand and to modernise its 2G and 3G networks across Jordan. In addition, operator aims to upgrade some of its base stations to support LTE technology.
