Orbitel was established in 1997 and is controlled by Spectrum Net which acquired it for EUR 5 million in January 2010. Orbitel is an integrated telecommunications service provider in Bulgaria. It provides a wide range of services including telephony, high-speed Internet and VPN to business and corporate customers in 35 Bulgarian cities.

In Q208, the company, which had predominantly focused on corporate customers, expanded its client portfolio by launching new ADSL broadband services to SMEs with up to 12 Mbps speeds.

Despite the strict Bulgarian regulatory framework which restrains competition in residential services market, the company sees the launch of its SME broadband as a base for launching residential broadband offerings in the future.
