BSkyB is a leading satellite television service company formed in 1998 offering services in the UK and Ireland. Under its Sky brand, the company offers IPTV, Personal Video Recorder and digital satellite television to its customers. Sky launched broadband services, available to its TV customers, on 18th July 2006.

Backed by the parent company BskyB, Sky is one of the major broadband ISP in Britain. It is the second fastest growing broadband company in terms of customers, after BT. The market sentiments indicate that it will soon be eating into BT's market share, leaving its other competitors - Talk Talk and Virgin Media behind.

Sky presents its entry-level broadband offering, Sky Base, as free but charges for Sky Mid and Sky Max. However, customers have to buy Sky TV to get any Sky Broadband, and the minimum additional cost for a Sky TV package is included in the bundled prices shown in this profile.
