Smart Telecom is an Irish telecoms service provider that started as a phone card seller. The company was founded in 2000, and launched broadband services in early 2005. Its initial offering of fast broadband, which included free telephone line rental, was considered revolutionary at the time and attracted large numbers of customers in its first year. However, plagued by financial difficulties, in December 2009 Ireland's high court approved a deal under which Smart Telecom became part of the Digiweb Group, retaining its own brand.

Smart Telecom offers the only Next Generation Network (Carrier Ethernet) in Ireland, providing voice, data and media services to residential, business and government customers.
