So-net Taiwan is an Internet subsidiary of SONY Communication Network Corporation (subsidiary of Sony) offering broadband TV, Internet and telephony services to its customers. The ISP was established in August 2001.
In January 2008, So-Net changed its name to So-Net Entertainment with the intention of providing more entertainment services. It also aims to co-operate more closely with So-Net Japan. On 18 March 2009, So-Net Entertainment sold 30 per cent of shares to Chunghwa Telecom. The two companies will further develop fibre broadband and multi-media platforms in Taiwan together.
