Founded in 1944, Svenska Bostäder (SB) is the largest housing association in Sweden. It is owned by the City of Stockholm. SB initiated a project that is aiming to eventually deploy FTTx in all housing estates for which SB is responsible.

All areas covered by the network are served by between 4 and 8 different ISPs offering broadband and VoIP services as well as two telephony and cable TV service providers. Tenants can freely choose the services and service providers they want. If access to SB’s network is not yet available, tenants may sign up directly for services of ISPs which have network presence in the area.
