Telefonica Deutschland (TD) is a part of the Telefonica group of companies and an alternative IP carrier in Germany. It offers a wide range of telecommunication services such as VPN, integrated voice and data services, web hosting and cable TV services in Germany. It was formed after the two ISPs, mediaWays and HighwayOne, merged in January 2003.

In August 2006, Telefonica S.A merged with O2 Germany and Telefonica Deutschland's business service unit merged with that of O2 Germany's to form O2 DSL. O2 Germany offers mobile data services, mobilfunk, DSL and fixed network telephony. Telefonica O2 Europe has mobile and fixed network customers in the UK, Ireland, the Czech Republic and Germany. In February 2007, Telefonica Slovakia joined the O2 Europe Group.

Telefonica completed the acquisition of Hansenet - Telecom Italia's German broadband business, in February 2010. The acquisition makes Telefonica O2 Deutschland the third largest player in the German market.
