Telia is a telecommunications operator based in Sweden. On 12 December 2002, Telia announced the completion of its merger with Sonera, the Finnish incumbent telecommunications operator, to form the TeliaSonera Group.

TeliaSonera offers a large range of telecommunication services in Sweden. Its services are marketed under the brands Telia, Halebop and Skanova and Cygate. The company focuses on businesses, consumers and organizations and is a market leader in all product areas, including mobile communications, fixed voice, data communications and broadband.

The company has nationwide, high-quality networks - it can supply broadband to 93 per cent of Swedish households. In early 2009, Telia started deploying its 4G network, with the launch of 4G services planned in 2010.
