Operator Source 15 May 2012TEOTEO is a leading telecommunications operator in the Baltic region. It was registered as state-owned on 6 February 1992 and privatised in July 1998. Formerly known as Lietuvos Telekomas (LT) the company changed its name to TEO in Q206. In 2003, Telia Sonera acquired a 60 per cent stake in TEO. In October 2005, TEO acquired a 96 per cent stake in software solutions provider Microlink, jointly with Lattelekom SIA and Elion. In Q311, TeliaSonera AB increased its shareholding in TEO to 68.29 per cent. At the end of Q311, TEO held a 90.9 per cent market share of the fixed-line telephony market, 38.1 per cent of the ISP market and 47.9 per cent of the digital television market. TEO offers its residential customers up to 300 Mbps broadband services based on the fibre technology. The services are available to one third of the country's population.
