Thus UK

THUS is a business telecommunications provider based in Scotland. It was established in 1994 by ScottishPower and de-merged from it in March 2002. The operator acquired Demon and all its services in 1998, and offers a range of voice, data and internet services under the brand name ‘Demon’. Tariffs for Demon broadband offerings may be seen in the Demon Internet profile.

In late May 2008, Cable & Wireless made a bid to acquire Thus for GBP 1.65 a share which was rejected. But talks continued and C&W raised its offer to GBP 1.80 a share in late June 2008, valuing Thus at GBP 330 million, which was accepted. The merger was referred to the Office of Fair Trading because of competition considerations but cleared on 12 September 2008. Following the acquisition, Cable and Wireless ceased to release the financial results for THUS separately and integrated its financial statements with the company's total financial performance.

In the second quarter of 2011, Thus re-launched its website, positioning it as a complete business communication solutions provider. Its comprehensive portfolio includes voice, data, Internet and cloud services meeting the communication requirements of small and medium enterprises.
