Operator Source 29 Mar 2012Turk TelekomTurk Telekomunikasyon (Turk Telekom) is the incumbent telecoms operator in Turkey. Its Internet network has nationwide coverage including over 140 Points-of Presence (PoPs). In August 2005, the Turkish government sold a 55 per cent stake in Turk Telekom to Saudi Oger Telecom, reducing the state owned stake to 30 per cent plus a 'golden share'. Turk Telekom owns 81.4 per cent of Avea, the third largest mobile operator in Turkey. Turk Telekom offers ADSL access in selected regions through its subsidiary Internet Service Provider TTNET. The company also offers a Point-to-Point ADSL service, VDSL and FTTH. These services are offered to ISPs on a wholesale basis.
