BroadBand User Service - UKPlus UK BroadbandUK Broadband offers a wireless broadband service in the Thames Valley and West London regions of the UK. It is now a wholly owned subsidiary of PCCW Limited. Initially launched as "Netvigator", UK Broadband rebranded its wireless broadband service as "now", matching PCCW's brand in Hong Kong, where it is the incumbent telco. UK Broadband launched its wireless broadband services on 6 May 2004. In January 2008, UK Broadband received formal confirmation of the extension of its existing 3.5GHz licences, which leave it positioned to offer mobile WiMAX services throughout the UK. Then in February 2008, it won four of the 40GHz licenses auctioned by Ofcom, giving it 1GHz of contiguous spectrum in that band. The operator now combines its 4G technology with its licensed 3.5GHz spectrum to offer wholesale wireless connectivity in the regions serviced by it. On 30 August 2010, UK Broadband announced the acquisition of the 802 Global Limited and spectrum licenses from Daisy Group. This will allow it to become a major player in the UK wireless solutions space. By September 2008, UK Broadband had ceased to actively offer its service in some parts of its coverage area. A query through the now website generated the response; "Sorry: "now" wireless broadband is in your area, but no longer available to new customers at your address."
