UK Online

UK Online originally operated as an independent ISP offering residential DSL services in the UK market. Established in 1994, the company became 100% subsidiary of Easynet in 1996. Following the acquisition, Easynet continued to operate UK Online as a different brand in the consumer market.

In October 2005, BSkyB announced its plans to acquire Easynet along with the UK Online brand for a consideration of GBP 211 million. The acquisition was completed in early 2006.

Following the acquisition, UK Online repositioned itself as a service provider for 'micro businesses', targeting professionals and home workers. The broadband packages offered by the operator are reasonably priced providing speeds up to 16 Mbps.
