Ukrtelecom (Ukrainian State Telecommunication Enterprise) is part of the Ministry of Telecommunications in Ukraine. Until 1993, the company was known as Ukre-electro Zavyazok and was later renamed the Ukrainian State Telecommunication Enterprise.

Ukrtelecom controls 74 per cent of the fixed-line market in Ukraine and offers ADSL services under the brand name OGO. Its broadband market share stands at 33 per cent as at Q411.

The operator was one of the last European state-owned enterprises to be privatised. Until recently the state held almost 93 per cent of Ukrtelecom, with the remaining shares held by the company’s employees. In early 2011, Ukrtelecom was sold to the Austrian investment fund Epic.
