22 May 2012UPC Cablecom

Cablecom is the largest cable operator in Switzerland. The company offers radio, cable TV, cable Internet and telephony services. It was established in 1994, following the merger of a number of cable network companies. In October 2005, Liberty Global acquired a 100 per cent stake in Cablecom for USD 2.2 billion.

Cablecom launched its Digital phone service in 2004. Digital phone was the first true alternative to fixed-line telephone services in Switzerland. Network upgrades have continued at a fast pace since its takeover by Liberty Global. Cablecom is now able to offer triple play services comprising TV, Internet and fixed telephony. A new HDTV service was launched in late 2007.
