UPC Czech is the largest broadband cable operator in the Czech Republic offering cable TV, cable Internet and telephony services.

UPC is a worldwide brand with operations in several European countries. In July 2005, Liberty Global acquired UnitedGlobalCom, the majority shareholder in UPC. In January 2007, Liberty Global completed the acquisition of Karneval, the second largest cable operator in the Czech Republic, for EUR 322.5 million (USD 428.3 million). Nine months later, UPC Czech fully integrated Karneval into its structure.

In November 2009, Liberty Global entered into an agreement to acquire Unitymedia, Germany’s second largest cable operator.
