31 Jan 2012UPC Ireland (Chorus/NTL)

In 2006, Liberty Global merged NTL Ireland with its existing Irish operation, Chorus Communications. The new merged entity was re-branded UPC Ireland (UPC Broadband is a division of Liberty Global). The re-branding process began in September 2006 and was officially completed in May 2010.

Strategically, the NTL segment provides services for customers living in Dublin, Waterford and Galway, and the Chorus segment for those living in other areas of the country.

UPC Ireland provides TV, broadband, Internet, traditional and VoIP telephony services. The company is the largest cable TV service provider in Ireland and has rapidly become a major broadband player. In December 2010, UPC Ireland began offering its ultra high-speed Internet service with a download speed of 100Mbps based on DOCSIS 3.0 technology in selected areas of Dublin.
