Velocity1

Velocity1 was launched on 26 January 2009. It has established itself as a new era communications and entertainment company. Velocity1 offers TV, broadband and voice services over a fibre optic network, with speeds of up to 100 Mbps. The company was formed by a joint venture between Quintain Estates and Development, the developers of Wembley City, and Industria Media, a fibre optic software and solutions provider with experience of designing and building fibre optic networks across Europe.

As a company strategy, Velocity1 works with property developers to pre-install advanced fibre-optic technology into new homes and offices throughout the UK, meaning there is effectively no installation time for users. By the end of 2010, the operator had planned to extend its presence to ten new sites across the UK though no new areas were covered by March 2011.
