Vodafone Portugal (known as Telecel until 1992 and Telecel Vodafone until 2001) entered Portuguese mobile market in 1992. It is solely owned by Vodafone Group. The company provides a wide range of services including mobile telephony, Internet and TV to both business and residential customers.

In 2010, the company launched a triple play service combining voice, Internet and TV over its own fibre-optic network with coverage in Greater Lisbon and Porto. Its ADSL service offers download speeds of up to 24 Mbps while fibre based broadband download speeds range from 50 to 300 Mbps.

In January 2012, Vodafone announced its 4G service offerings.
