Operator Source 22 May 2012ZiggoEarly in 2007, and after Warburg Pincus and Cinven bought three Dutch cable operators, a new market leader emerged in the Netherlands. The merger involved Essent Kabelcom, Casema and Multikabel. Together they now provide cable television and broadband services to almost half of all households in the Netherlands. The new companies operated in the market using their familiar brand names, with their own specific services: @Home and @Work for Essent Kabelcom's services, Casema and Multikabel. From 16 May 2008, Cable@ Home, Casema and Multikabel continue under the new brand name Ziggo. The total coverage of all three networks extends over the whole of the Netherlands. In effect, the combination is a national cable provider with strong regional footprint, as well as localised FTTH deployments.
