ZON Multimedia was a part of Portugal Telecom Group, known as PT Multimedia until November 2007 when it acquired separate status. In January 2008, PT Multimedia adopted a new corporate name, ZON Multimedia. The operator offers cable TV, satellite TV and Internet access services in Portugal through its subsidiary, TV Cabo.

TV Cabo pioneered broadband Internet access in Portugal with the launch of Netcabo in 1999. It is the pay-TV market leader in Portugal and one of the major cable operators in Europe. In January 2007, TV Cabo launched its telephony service, and in doing so established itself as the major integrated triple-play operator in the country. In Q109 the operator launched fibre-based services with up to 100 Mbps speeds, followed by 200 Mbps and 1 Gbps in Q3 2009.
