There were 2.65 million fixed broadband subscribers in Hungary at the end of Q4 2013. The annual growth rate was 13.52% while population penetration had reached 26.7%.
The Hungary fixed broadband market grew by 13.52% in 2013, higher than the growth rates for all global regions during the same period. Broadband population penetration in the country is healthy but not high so there is potential for continued healthy growth in the coming years. Magyar Telekom is the largest player in the Hungarian fixed broadband sector with a 32.1% market share. UPC, DIGI and Invitel also figure strongly with market shares of between 9% and 20%.
