Oliver Johnson – CEO

Oliver leads the company and is responsible for the quality and content of the Point Topic web services.

Oliver has been involved in online environments and development since the late 1980’s and has planned and implemented a wide range of multimedia-related projects including TV and video production with credits for broadcast and early groundbreaking internet implementations.

He has worked as a marketing and website manager for small-to-medium online retail organisations, as a website producer for leading agencies and was a senior producer for several projects for blue chip multinationals including internet, intranet, B2C and B2B winning a number of industry awards.

He holds a BSc in Maths and Economics from the University of London.

Tim Johnson – Chief Analyst

Tim Johnson is the founder of Point Topic. Tim also co-founded Ovum, now a part of the Informa Group PLC and previously the biggest independent  European-based IT and telecoms analysis group.

Tim is well known as an expert in broadband developments around the world. He frequently speaks at conferences in Europe, Asia-Pacifica and America. His expertise is based on long experience of new media, and the technologies which enable them.

His breadth of experience provides a strong foundation for Point Topic’s focus on the broadband industry.

Geoff Eagland – Chairman

Geoff Eagland is lead investor and Chairman of Point Topic Ltd. A successful entrepreneur, he built his company Envoy into one of the leading UK specialists in computer-telephony integration.

Veronica Speiser – UK Analyst

Veronica has been contributing research to Point Topic since 2012, whilst also carrying out quality control for much of our UK and international broadband markets databases.  Since July, Veronica has been the leading research associate for our UK Plus broadband market data.

Veronica’s main background is in the education sector where she worked for nearly a decade as an international marketing and development officer for a major London university before moving into the private and public secondary school sector.  She oversaw the marketing and development of national and local teacher training programmes before shifting her focus to  the UK telecoms market for Point Topic.  Veronica’s main areas of interest are research and analysis of UK telecoms infrastructure developments and investments, broadband availability and governmental and public sector policies shaping the digital landscape in the UK.

Veronica holds a BA (Hons) in International Relations and History from the University of Westminster.

Jolanta Stanke – Research Director

Jolanta Stanke

Jolanta has been contributing to Point Topic research since 2007. She became Senior Editor in 2009 and Research Director in 2015. Over that time she has recruited and trained the Research Network of reliable and highly skilled broadband analysts. Jolanta’s main areas of interest are research and analysis of broadband tariffs, availability, take-up and forecasts, both in the UK and globally, as well as a leading role in the development of Point Topic’s CMS.

Previously, Jolanta managed various research projects focusing on public policy and voluntary sector while working for research institutes at University of Oxford and University of Cambridge. A Cambridge graduate in Economics and a Fulbright scholar, she also has an MBA and PhD in Management Studies.

Isabelle Anderson – Marketing, Admin & Sales Assistant

Isabelle joined Point Topic in November 2020.  Isabelle started her career in marketing working for Newsweek Magazine, moving on to advertising sales representing several international publications in the UK such as Les Echos in France, La Repubblica in Italy and Handelsblatt in Germany as well as tech website Tom’s Hardware.  She then worked for local television station Mustard TV in Norwich before taking time out of the industry to study at top UK drama school Italia Conti Academy of Arts.
