About:

Company

Point Topic Ltd is a UK-based company founded in 1998.  Our mission is to provide focused information on broadband communications services. Now the www.point-topic.com website is internationally recognised as one of the best sources on broadband.  It provides subscribers with regularly updated online databases and reports about broadband services around the world.  Summary information is available for free to any visitor to the site.

Point Topic is an independent company, backed by private investors.  Point Topic has an agreement with DSL Forum,  to provide statistics of DSL rollout worldwide.  The statistics are published free of charge each quarter through the DSL Forum and Point Topic websites.  We believe this is a valuable contribution to the development of the DSL and broadband industries.

Products

Point Topic carries a number of subscription services.

The Operator Source  service includes in-depth reports produced from analysis of the profile data and further interviews.  The service is based on profiles of over 300 major broadband operators around the world.  Each profile lists the broadband services the operator provides, the prices charged, marketing strategies used, the progress of rollout and other background information.  The operator profiles are updated every three months.  Earlier profiles going back to 1999 are also available to subscribers in the archive.

Global Broadband Statistics provides broadband subscriber figures for over 300 operators in some 90 countries throughout the world by access technologies and various delivery channels like local loop unbundling, retail and wholesale purchase.  Designed as an online database users are able to query the latest statistics and produce tailored reports across several variables.

The Point Topic Broadband Money Makers webservice was launched in September 2003. It profiles the value-added services which broadband operators are launching to encourage broadband take-up and generate more revenue per user.  As well as profiling the lead suppliers of value added services like voice over IP and video on demand in the Application Source section of Broadband Money Makers.

UK Plus gives you a more detailed look at the UK market.  Included in the service are additional ISP profiles, UK specific statistics (market share etc) and a twice monthly newsletter with news, ISP spotlights and analysis.

The BroadBand User Service brings together the BroadBand User Survey, BroadBand Neighbourhood and UK Plus to give unrivalled insight into the UK market.  Based around rolling multi client surveys of business and consumer markets and combined with specific research and other information sources we have collated and analysed all the information you need to understand broadband customers and markets in the UK.
